Dr. Minchi Kim, Post Doctoral Scholar Minchi Kim joined CREATE and the Educational Communications and Technology Program in 2006 as a Post Doctoral Scholar. Her research focuses on scaffolding students scientific problem solving with technology-enhanced learning environments, advancing pedagogical framework for learning and teaching in technology-rich classes, and integrating emergent technologies into K-12 classes. Previously, she worked on several NSF and DOE funded projects as a Research Assistant at the Learning and Performance Support Laboratory. She earned her Ph.D. and M.Ed in Instructional Technology at University of Georgia and her B.A. at Ewha Woman's University. Her research has been published in numerous journals such as Journal of Computing in Higher Education, Quarterly Review of Distance Education, Instructional Science, and Distance Learning. |

Jonathan deHaan , Coordinator Jonathans background is in English literature, second language acquisition, and computer assisted language learning, and he is currently working on his dissertation on learning foreign languages through video games. Before coming to NYU as a Founders Fellow, he taught English as a Foreign Language in Japan. Jonathan earned his BA in English Literature from Dordt College, Iowa, and his MA from Michigan State University in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. |

| Dr. Francine Shuchat Shaw francine.shaw@nyu.edu Associate Professor Francine Shuchat Shaw has been a member of the faculty of the Program in Educational Communication and Technology since 1976. She served as Program Director from 1986 until 1998, and she now serves as Coordinator of the Master of Arts program. Associate Professor Francine Shuchat Shaw earned her A.A. in Liberal Arts at Stephens College; her B.S. Ed. at The Ohio State University in English and Science Education; her M.A. at The Ohio State University in English and English Education; and her Ph.D. at The Ohio State University in Humanities Education. Prior to joining the NYU faculty, Associate Professor Francine Shuchat Shaw was a member of the faculty of the Department of Filmmaking and Television at Rochester Institute of Technology, from 1973 until 1976. |

| Dr. Trace Jordan trace.jordan@nyu.edu Dr. Jordan is Associate Director of the Morse Academic Plan, NYU’s general education curriculum, with responsibility for the Foundations of Scientific Inquiry program. He regularly teaches non-majors science courses including Energy and the Environment, Human Genetics, and The Molecules of Life. Dr. Jordan is also an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry. His teaching and research interests focus on creative approaches in science education, especially for undergraduate liberal arts students. These include curriculum design, molecular simulations, and exploring the connections between science and societal issues. Dr. Jordan has received NYU’s Outstanding Teaching Award and his work has received grant support from the National Science Foundation and the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation. |
